TAVARES- On Monday, September 30th, optional basketball conditioning will begin! Anyone who has signed up for basketball is invited. It is every weekday except for Wednesday until October 18th. It is optional, but recommended. “You should go to conditioning so that you prepare both your mind and your body for the upcoming season,” said Athletic Director, Joseph Martinez. Over the off-season, players typically fall out of basketball shape. “I need conditioning pretty badly so that during the season I don't struggle,” said freshman Zackery Adkins. Conditioning helps players get back in shape so that they can perform well when the season rolls around. “I'm going to go to conditioning because I need to get back in shape,” said junior Ben Nelson.
“I'm sure it will be tough, but I'm ready and am excited for the season,” said freshman Calvin Harrigan. Many players are ready for the tough road ahead. “Conditioning is optional, but if you’re serious about playing basketball, I would recommend you go at least twice a week,” said Martinez. Make sure to bring running shoes and water to stay hydrated throughout the day and show up ready to run!
